Blue Mormon Resort @ Bhimashankar

We decided to head for this location well planned. We booked the two bedroom bungalow a month in advance. Planned to stay at Blue Mormon resort some 5-7 km before Bhimashankar temple. We were total 7 (including children) in 2 Cars, our Linea and zen estilio. Me, Deepti (Wife) and Nikita in Linea and my sister (Supriya, Amit) with 2 daughters, Sarah & Soha in zen.
We started our journey at around 9 from mhatre bridge on 1st may. We decided to take a Manchar route as we thought we will get better highway patch and less state highway. Took an 35-45 mins break for breakfast top the ghat of Rajgurunagar.

The initial route decided was via Manchar. (click on the photo to zoom in)

We reached peth when we saw a board saying Bhimashankar but we dint pay any attention. We then continued around 5 km and woahh, traffic jam. In the Ghat section we encountered epic traffic and on top of it instead of max of 2 lanes, all our expert experienced Indian drivers did 5 lanes and there was hardly any room left for incoming vehicles. That shot i got a kick in my head and i called Amit who was driving zen behind me, still in traffic, to tell them we cant wait here it can even take 2 hours or may be 5.
Luckily there was a ST bus the driver of which allowed me to take a u turn. Had a little game of giving a good mouthful to some oncoming cars as now i was getting out of this mess.

Amit was also able to take a u turn we headed for the Peth village where we had seen the road sign saying Bhimashankar. We stopped just before taking the road i started my GPS on nexus 5, and Amit checked with an auto walla if the road condition is okay. As expected he suggested take a route from Manchar, he said last few km are not good at all.

But i decided  to take this route as there was no point in going via that Ghat section because of unruly behavior of our Indian Drivers. I was the one who hadproblems  taking bad roads because if low ground clearance of linea.

So we started in that route, to our surprise the road was ok, more like the highway to Nashik after toll road was over. We continued and i just hoped the last part be good enough not like the konkan road in last trip in dec 13. It was too bumpy. Still had the words of auto walla at the back of my mind. Just hoping that it wont be that bad.
We continued and i was shocked to see such a wonderful road, it was not perfect but it had no prob what so ever. May be auto walla just dint want the traffic via this road, without a problem we touched the manchar Bhimashankar road. We were already 12km from manchar. The road thereafter was too good in comparison. Now different qns started to gather why the hell the roads in Pune are that bad whereas  the road in places like guhagar bhimashankar are super good in comparison.

When you compare mulshi road, sinhgad road, you dont want to compare but just give your blessings to road dept, pcmc. I hope you know which blessings are to be given and i dont want to type it here frankly.

We reached Blue Mormon resorts, we got a bungalow which we had booked, asked for after initial payment from Pune during confirmation. All in all 125km in 3 hours with a break for breakfast and ghat portion story.

Enjoyed for 2 nights 3 days. Started our journey back to Pune after breakfast on sat 3rd may by 11am.
Amit had a tour on Monday and i wanted to relax a bit before work reumes.
Had a good lunch at Chakan and reached by 3:30 at Amit Supriya place, had tea and came back home.

It was wonderful short trip.
