US Travel: Princeton

Princeton, NJ, one of the best places I have been in life, everything is well planned, right from grass to roads.
Not everywhere you see such an organized way of things in place.

The place is well covered with trees and grasslands, some where in between you can see some corn farming as well.

The place is awesome except of few problems which a traveler may face, to name few (as of Jun 2010):
1. Car, there is no public transport available at all places, you need to schedule a taxi, you cant find one on roads so often.

2. You need to have a Phone, in case you need to contact anyone, lets say for that matter, taxi for reschedule its very difficult as public phones are big problem.
The reason I took Rescheduling of Taxi, example is because the Taxi is not so cheap. To travel to 5 miles, you have to shell out $ 25. That's more than $ 4 a mile, additionally you will have to pay for waiting if you don't show up in time.

3. If in case you have CAR, may be rented one (need International Driving License - IDP), GPS is a must, as everyone travels by car, you don't have an option of asking anyone where the place is you are looking for. At least in other US cities you can catch hold of some people for directions.

4. You need to have a Laptop and a Net is a must.. ( this is valid for US in general)

I don't see any point why the country is so clean and clear, its not like there is no corruption but at least it does not exist at lower level. Common man is not involved in this nor is the Police, (we need to learn this). This is just amazing, you don't stop at Red signal, you get points and you cant escape that, no officer will accept that for a bribe. You have to pay fine, of course this is if he gets you and if not there are few places where Cameras are installed to take a snapshot of cars.
Every year you have to register the vehicle this way they have a track of your address that helps them to track you down. It seems very clear but in reality its the people who follow it, even Indians who throw an empty bottle of water on road in India and say chalata hai.
That SUCKS, bug time.

Its our Country and its our duty to make sure we keep it clean and clear, let me tell you we are at least 70-80 years back. We have iPhone, iPad blah blah blah but when it comes to things like patience, rules, discipline we are all zero, or should i say we are on Negative index, that's a fits better.

Its not all that is good here, the life here is full of formalities, Sorry, thank you are words are used more than hi and hello, if you have to go and meet someone you have to call and ask if he/she is free or not?

Everyone is busy. everything here comes for a $$$ nothing is FREE. Nothing is free. More than these will be in my next blog @ US...

My Rating: 3.5 out of 5
