LaxmiKeshav, Kolisare Temple

I had been to Kuldaivat Laxmi-Keshav (Kolisare, near Ratnagiri in Maharashtra) recently (in Dec 08). The place really rocks. This place is basically Kuldaivat for Dandekar, Limaye, Joshi, Karandikar, Marathe and many more KOBRAs (Chitpavan Kokanastha Brahmins).
The location is really wonderful and one can get the feel of Real Kokani village and also one can get good Pure Veg food to taste.
The accommodation can arranged by Mr Marathe who is Temple Guruji (Priest) and it is also available at Laker Nivas. The arrangement is not a luxurious but is good enough for stay and one who loves to check out Konkan, it’s a wonderful experience.

How to reach:

On Mumbai Goa (NH) Road there is a place called Hatkhamba. Before Hatkhamba there is a place called Nivali (Niwali) some 5 Km from Hatkhamba, from which one road goes to Ganapatipule (another Famous tourist spot, and a Holy place in the name of God Ganapati). 11 KM From Ganapati pule there is a road which goes to Jaygad(Jaigad) which goes to Kolisare.

One can take a right turn to go to Kolisare or Jaygad(Jaigad). Again there is one right turn some 10 Km before Jaygad(Jaigad) to Kolisare (appx 3 Km from main road.)

Word of Advice:
There is only one Petrol Pump (Gas station) at Jaka Devi, once you take a turn from Mumbai Goa so make sure you make your tank FULL or you could be in trouble.

Lakshmi Keshav Devasthan.
